As the new Climate Health Project Coordinator, Tiffany Rivera manages grant-funded, community-based air quality and climate change impact projects, such as the Place Study project. Leveraging community-academic partnerships, Tiffany aims to increase the community's capacity in South LA to engage with climate resilience efforts through participatory research, neighborhood-level exposure analysis, and by co-developing an actionable community health plan.
Tiffany found her love for the outdoors at an early age, as she would spend every summer swimming at the beach in her mother's hometown of Acapulco, Mexico. Her connection with nature inspired her to pursue a B.S. in Environmental Science, Technology & Policy from California State University, Monterey Bay (2019), and later a master's in Urban Planning from the University of California, Los Angeles (2023), to create more sustainable, equitable, and climate-resilient cities.
Prior to joining PSR-LA, Tiffany interned with the City of LA's Climate Emergency Mobilization Office (CEMO) to inform the city's heat action plan and overall resiliency efforts, and she has a background in environmental compliance and data analysis.
