Estephanie Garcia is an Air Quality Outreach and Education Associate at PSR LA. Estephanie’s role encompasses bringing communities together to create livable spaces we all deserve. In her role, she is able to bridge a connection between partner organizations, people, and causes. She ultimately believes it is an enriching experience to work with people with similar values that center both environmental health and people.

Estephanie was fortunate to be welcomed into her Southeast Los Angeles community, which inspired her to join movements that prioritize justice and equity. More specifically, working with East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice in high school empowered her to use her voice and validated her radicalized beliefs. She is very grateful that she was able to be a part of the #GettTheLeadOut campaign as a youth member and, later, as a community research specialist in her adulthood. She is proud to be part of the collective of people who helped shut down the Exide company, demanded a state clean-up, and continue to ensure that communities of color are treated justly.

She attended the University of Southern California and studied Public Policy with a minor in Gender and Social Justice. In her free time, she enjoys reading anywhere where there are trees around and going to art shows curated by local artists.
