Edgar joins PSR-LA as the Energy Equity Policy Coordinator to help steer local and state energy policies, promote equitable community engagement, and implement a just energy transition.

Edgar’s passion for environmental justice ignited while attending San Francisco State University. As an undergraduate student, he researched the impacts of pesticides on undocumented communities who work in the agriculture fields. Saddened by his findings, Edgar decided to pursue a career path centered on environmental justice.

Before joining PSR-LA, Edgar focused on advancing environmental justice efforts in local governments, particularly in energy programs and policies. He assisted the City of Emeryville in developing a pathway to equitably electrify its municipal buildings. Contributed to the development of CleanPowerSF’s Energy Equity Policy. In addition, he supported the City and County of San Francisco in developing a process for community engagement regarding their EJ element.

Edgar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from San Francisco State University. He enjoys Echo Park and the abundance of street food vendors in Los Angeles.
